Education Minister Dipu Moni said the admission process in Class XI (HSC) is being delayed due to the global epidemic coronavirus. However, in the light of the policy, a decision will be taken very soon and the admission process will start.
Class XI Admission will start soon. The minister made the remarks in response to a question from Shafiul Islam of Dhaka-10 constituency in Parliament on Thursday (July 9th). Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury presided over the question and answer session.
The Education Minister said that even in this situation of corona infection, the admission policy for class XI in 2020-21 academic year-2020 has already been formulated. Although the results of SSC examination were published on May 31, the admission process in class XI is being delayed due to Covid-19. The Board of Education is ready for admission. Admission process will start by making a decision very soon.
Replying to a question from Fakhrul Imam of Mymensingh-8 constituency, the education minister said all educational institutions are closed to prevent students from getting infected due to coronavirus outbreak in the country. However, the Ministry of Education has taken various steps to keep the students involved in education and to maintain the quality of education.
Replying to a question from Mamunur Rashid Kiran of Neakhali-3 constituency, the education minister said there is no English medium school at the government level in the country. There are 145 English medium schools in the private sector.

Replying to a question from Shafiul Islam of Dhaka-10 constituency, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Zakir Hossain said the government has no plan to stop the final examination of primary education. In order to make this examination more up-to-date, a board has been constituted under the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education to be included in the DPP of the Fourth Primary Education Development Program (PEDP-4).
